Water Flows to the Livestock of Anderson Cattle Co.
JACALITOS RANCH, FRESNO COUNTY
PROJECT DETAILS
Owner: Anderson Cattle Co. | Contractor: Tayler Made Irrigation | Project Scope: Water Tank
With 27,000 acres of land, the Jacalitos Ranch in Fresno, California required a solution to making sure their cattle were well watered. Jensen Infrastructure teamed up with Taylor Made Irrigation to supply 11 water troughs for Anderson Cattle Co. Sitting on pads of concrete 24 feet wide, these troughs measure 11’ W x 2’ H. Each tank holds 850 gallons of water, ensuring the livestock have enough water in an otherwise barren area of land. Complying with guidelines from the National Resources Conservation Service, Jensen provided two sets of stairs cast into every trough so that any cattle that fell in would be able to save itself.
Custom made by Jensen Kingsburg, these troughs only have two holes rather than the four that come stock in this design. This design relocated the holes so the plumbing could hook up to one in the bottom of the tank and the other acted as an overflow valve. Since the troughs were so wide and weighed a whopping 11,388 pounds each, Jensen coordinated transportation with wide load trucks and followed with its own boom truck to offload the troughs at the installation site.
We were able to accommodate the customer and place their branding on each tank, which ended up being a huge selling point and pleased the customer so much that they ended up ordering four more troughs from us.
