Jensen Utility Vault Powers Angela Solar

ALPAUGH, CALIFORNIA

PROJECT DETAILS
Owner:
Angela Solar | Architect/Engineer: Dashiell Corp.  | Contractor: Underground Construction | Scope: Utility Vault

Laced with copper wire for electric conductivity and grounding, and weighing in at 157,485 pounds, Jensen Infrastructure took on the Angela Substation project in Alpaugh, California. Collaborating with Dashiell Corporation and Underground Construction, Jensen Lockeford and Jensen Kingsburg worked in tandem to pour and supply a precast concrete utility vault to tie into a newly developed one-mile-long transmission interconnection line with the nearby PG&E Olive electrical substation. The vault itself ran 10’W x 24’L x 9’H and required bituminous coatings that will keep the structure safe from any seepage, electrical corrosion, or unwanted decomposition. The vault was transported in separate pieces via four wide load semi-trucks and taken to its destination at the installation site in Tulare County.

We started pouring this structure around late February and early March to meet the customer’s timeline of onsite delivery of mid-March after giving them the quote in November of 2024.
