Northtowne Apartments Secret Weapon against Stormwater

RENO, NEVADA

PROJECT DETAILS
Owner:
Ochoa Development Corporation | Architect/Engineer: Christy Corporation | Contractor: GE Excavating | Project Scope: JDS Unit

At a towering height of 18’ tall and 10’ in diameter, this Jensen Deflective Separator will never be seen by the public. Its job is underground, away from prying eyes. But in this case, to be seen is to be silent. Collaborating with engineers from Christy Corporation, and contractors from GE Excavating, Jensen delivered this JDS Unit for the Calm at Northtowne apartment complex in Reno, Nevada. Including the water screening system and PVC piping, this unit weighs approximately 25,000 pounds and can screen 3.47 cubic feet of water per second.

In general, these types of units are not super common in Northern Nevada. Hydrodynamic separators like the JDS are great for controlling stormwater pollutants.
