Reputation counts a lot when it comes to business. For the Fieldstone North residential subdivision project in Elk Grove, California, the reputation of Jensen Precast counts with the Reno, Nevada, engineering firm Woods Rodgers.
“Wood Rodgers was able to handle unique site requirements and obtain detailed drawings and a 3-Part CSI format specification from Jensen Precast without having to hire structural or consulting engineers,” says Charlie Moses, Director of Sales Operations for Jensen Precast. “Our reputation and diverse precast concrete box culvert product offering were the reasons we were engaged in the design of the project. The design engineer wanted to use as much precast as possible for the box culvert drainage easement, including wing walls and headwalls.”
Short construction duration by the contractor, Marques Pipeline Inc., lent to the specifying of precast box culvert for the job, including two triple barrel type 1 segmental box culverts, consisting of one center 12’ x 5’ box culvert and two 12’ x 4’ outer box culverts. Crossing one was 72 barrel feet, and crossing two was 60 barrel feet.
“Wood Rodgers and its client were so impressed with the ease of design and installation,” Moses says, “they are also specifying our product on a project called Bruceville Meadows, another residential subdivision in Elk Grove.”
