Sun City Festival is a sprawling desert retirement community east of Phoenix, Arizona, where residents enjoy a 27 hole championship golf course lined with palm trees and rolling greenery. Sun Valley Parkway cuts a path through the course for vehicle traffic to get in, out, and around the resort. The community needed a solution for members of the Copper Canyon Golf Club to access all areas of the course by way of a convenient underpass for golf carts.

Jensen Precast designs, engineers, and delivers precast concrete arches for a variety of traffic solutions, including golf courses. “Our project for Copper Canyon consisted of an arch tunnel running 300 feet under a road with significant traffic,” says Brian Hartfield, Jensen Precast Phoenix Sales Manager. “We worked with Rummel Construction and installed the first half of the project in three to four days. Rummel had to manage switching the traffic flow on Sun Valley Parkway to the other direction while the second half of the project was installed in the same time period. It was a great project for us.”

Golfers at Copper Canyon can now navigate the course via golf carts under the parkway with the greatest of ease.
