Main Line Storm Drain System Built with Reinforced Concrete Pipe
Project Details
About the Project
The Southern California Logistics Airport (SCLA) in Victorville continues to attract large-scale industrial and distribution development. Built on the former George Air Force Base, the area has become a major logistics hub with room for continued growth.
One of the latest additions is a new Goodyear distribution facility. Like any large warehouse development, the project required significant underground infrastructure before construction above grade could finish.
Among the most important pieces was the site’s main line storm drain system.
Managing Stormwater for a Growing Logistics Hub
Large warehouse developments create large drainage demands.
With thousands of square feet of roof, pavement, truck courts, and parking areas, stormwater must be collected and moved efficiently. The project required a primary storm drain line capable of serving as the backbone of the drainage network while supporting both current needs and future development throughout the surrounding SCLA area.
The storm drain system also needed to be installed on schedule to keep pace with ongoing site development.
Large Diameter RCP for Long Term Performance
Jensen Infrastructure supplied approximately 5,000 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe manufactured at our Las Vegas facility.
The RCP was 54” and 48” diameter pipe that formed the backbone of the site’s stormwater network, collecting and conveying runoff across the development.
The completed storm drain system provides the strength, durability, and capacity needed to support continued growth throughout the Southern California Logistics Airport development.
