Jensen Installs Its Own Reinforced Concrete Pipe at New Plant

As Jensen expands our reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) and box culvert manufacturing capabilities at our Lockeford facility in Northern California, the infrastructure supporting the new plant needs to grow right alongside it.

A natural drainage ditch between the new facility and our existing plant created a barrier for future heavy truck traffic. To keep operations moving while preserving existing drainage, the open channel needed to be replaced with a buried storm drainage system.

The new crossing needed to support heavy truck loads without disrupting the site’s existing drainage.

A single larger diameter pipe would have required a deeper installation to provide adequate soil cover for traffic above, increasing excavation and potentially requiring additional trench support. At the same time, lowering the flow line would have altered the existing drainage profile and added complexity to the project.

When it came time to build the infrastructure supporting our newest plant, there was never much debate about whose products we would use.

Jensen manufactured and installed a 600’ run of twin 30” RCP produced less than 100 yards from the jobsite. Using two barrels instead of one larger pipe maintained the existing flow line while keeping the installation shallow enough to support heavy truck traffic.
