Redi-Rock Continues to Make News

In a technological era where consumers can buy movies online with one click and with the next click buy a automobile, some businesses are still opting with the traditional test drive, yet adding a modern spin. One Louisiana car dealership is putting the Redi-Rock technology to use in creative ways for potential SUV buyers with the completion of its Redi-Rock SUV test course. The Redi-Rock technology uses blocks weighing 2,500 pounds and is typically used for the construction of perimeter fences for homes. The strength of the Redi-Rock technology, which is used nationwide, allows walls to be built 75% higher than regular retaining walls. The Redi-Rock technology utilizes an interlocking system and is a leader in the California and Nevada markets. It's natural appearance and easy installation makes it an appealing choice for many homeowners, and now, the occasional savvy car dealership.

Ben Manthei, managing partner of Redi-Rock International, shed some light on this daunting task, "In this case, we know that every [Hummer dealer] track could be unique, while still meeting GM specs. Because Redi-Rock had never been used in this application, it was a challenge. But we knew the size of our product and the rugged, upscale look was a perfect match for the Hummer."

Gerry Lane Hummer/Saab in Baton Rouge, Louisiana worked with Redi-Rock International of Charlevoix, Michigan to construct a massive off-road track that would highlight the rough and tough Hummer image. To do so the car dealership worked with Redi-Rock and created man-made mountains for the course. The dealership representatives stated that the end result cost less than a poured concrete wall, and, with an increase in the sales to 60 Hummers per month, the extra investment was worthwhile. Potential car buyers feel as if they have just stepped into one of their favorite action movies, perhaps, sensing a connection to a new movie release like "Die Hard" or "Speed 2." With the new test track there is no need to buy movies, full of exciting car chases and adventure, when behind the driver's seat on the Redi-Rock track you can set out on your very own.

Car dealerships are not the only areas of business taking advantage of this technology. In Eleanor, West Virginia, a retaining wall built with Redi-Rock has helped protect residences from erosion and has capitalized on the functional areas of the property. The end result is a community functioning more in harmony with the surrounding landscape.

Redi-Rock saved money for AutoZone in Sissonville, West Virginia by saving 10 feet of valuable parking lots that without the Redi-Rock Technology would have been unusable. Without Redi-Rock construction, the 13.5 foot wall would have required costly soil enforcement that is commonly used when wall reach over four feet. The base block measured sixty inches and weighed in at 3,300 pounds to complete the wall. Again, with the efficient and cost-saving Redi-Rock, companies have greater freedom to practice they ways they do business. Redi-Rock is a name to watch for in the news.
